I think the rules have something funny, but ey, this full on is all the same blibe di blu bla, i hear psytrance for 8 years now since i was 15 years, not so long like others, but i still love it so much and i still love the same bla bla FULL ON I love the bass in 16th, i love the filters before or in the break i love the small stops and so on, so what the f. !!
So Freakulizer your New Album is a bomb, this is the style i love and its good that there are artists that keep this true groovy style alive, the good bounciiiii (prog.) what ever full on.
For sure some new variations are always welcome, but not much of the "new" psy is so psy....this new elektro, prog house, prog (trance) is nice and ok and a lot of BIIIIG Produktions but I dont now, i can listen to it and i respekt every person that loves that sound but for me, its not techno, its not house, its not elektro, its not psy...so on..i dont hear it on goa partys and i dont hear it in clubs, i only can speak for clubs in germany specially frankfurt/main.
The not sooo new variation but more and more coming "dark psy" is the same for me and a lot of other people....this 2 "new" variations not come close to the big full on tunes from the past 6-8 years and can´t do so much magic on the dancefloor, the prog house variations brings a other kind of magic on the floor, more like "PAAARTY" we go drinking and its more for the masses like a normal Party in any Electronic Musik club where the People go 5 o´clock in the morning, to burger king and than in their beds. Because its normal Music, for "normal" Party people. I think this is ok, but thats the reason why this variation is not a "new" psy variation for me.
dark psy --> hell musik, horror musik. For me --> Nothing to do with psychedlic music. Respekt for the Producers, that they dont get a heart attack while Produktion .
So think not so much new full on can mess with big old tracks, like Electric Universe - The Prayer, 1200 mics - language of the future, acid for nothing every old tracks from them. Oh damn so many big tracks - Bamboo Forest - Breath - Alien Project - Groovy, Psydrop - fear and loathing, OF COURSE Deeply Dist. from Infected, ALL Space Buddah Albums and of course Cosmosis, Rinkadink - Techmology "BOOOOOM" and so many more from this time, this was the best psychedelic "full On" time and this sound, was amazing, is amazing and don´t need something complete new.

i think any music has to evolve, i mean, i would run a bullet thru my head if today's rock music would sound like beatles(though they're great!)...
that's why i wouldn't use same sounds or voice samples as guys from 10 years ago...
i agree the music logic bomb or space buddha etc. is still glorious and best sounding but i can't stand doing that again and again.
only one Mona Lisa of michelangelo can take your breath away, but then you go to the next picture to discover Dali for example and then on and on...

Hmmm, I have to admit, i'm a little dissapointed in Austere...whom I happen to be a fan of...at least their drone material...but of course much drone-ambient music follows a formula... Hmmm. Perhaps throwing stones in a glass house isn't the best idea.

Let's hope the guy doesn't go for a career in writing (for his sake). What I'm sure was meant to come off as funny actually comes off as quite angry and somewhat jealous...
I'd be the first to laugh at trance stereotypes but the manner of writing was way off, blunt and unsophisticated.
If you desire change, then be the change.... instead of ranting like a child.

Apparently they have never heard Suomi Soundi...
Besides, Every genre has its rules, i.e. Death Metal without growls? Jazz with 4/4 kicks? So why psy trance without TRANCE-gating?
It's the small variations to the rules that makes you stand out as an artist. |
