If you mean the chart I posted a link to, it's not telling you that you should do anything at all. All we ever used it for (a grand total of twice) was to make tracks in particular keys at particular tempos for just for the intellectual satisfaction of having the main beats and notes starting on a zero-crossing of the previous one. Makes for easy editing.
Of course people who get more out of the chart than that are welcome to do so.
BTW making tracks in D or D# is a great way to get serious sub into your bassline as the low octave of D is at 36Hz, although depending on how you make your bassline it can be difficult to get it sounding as tight and as punchy as writing in A or G. When it works though, it's killargh.

Slightly O.T:
If you've ever had inexplicable computer problems, you can probably attest to machines having souls.
Some interesting perspectives here, and the god chart is kinda interesting... One thing that might get me flamed is the fact that music may be mathematical in theory, it's interpretation is not mathematical. Feeling, soul, groove, all these are determined by the impression that it leaves upon you. Just as much as when I attempted to connect the second law of thermodynamics to eqing... science can't quite explain really why music effects us, just the characteristics of sound.
One thing that I do notice about the god chart that could come in handy is, if I make a bassline that's at D (36hz) I probably shouldn't cut my bass at 50 hz An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

For all you guys who do not know that collection a long time ago:
http://www.ansolas.de/goodies
Using different root frequencies as A (e.g 432...) shifts the tempis as well.
You could also write you bassline in A and tune teh tempi to D. In that case you have a big 5th
BTW. have you seen this here :
http://www.i-doser.com/
It simulates certain effects. |
