hi you all
i want to start with a low tempo 75bpm let say, i have a deep bass line, very moody and relaxing move along with the drums and sounds but then i want to enter the main bass line & kick on a 140bpm (lets say) while stil preserve the calm mood from the intro
what should i do?
cahnge the pattern structure? play with the pitch?
any explanation will be welcomed

If you have it all in MIDI Set the PBM to 140 ,and make the beat at the begining play half bars beat...it will create a 70 pbm slow beat sequence that later can be easily turned into the real track BPM 140.
Try the sounds on both and see if it works good for both speeds.
The most important thing for you will be to create a good connection between the two speeds....make it smart make it creative and it can be awesome...

P.S. you can use master BPM track (i know it exist in cubase don't know about other softwares).
Master PBM track is like a automation track for BPM and you can create PBM change troughout the track when ever you want.
From any PBM to any PBM.
I don't recommend it because it just make things more complicated.
Use it only if you have a must because you want to use a certain sample loop in a certain BPM ( for example 95 PBM Gated PAD loop in a 140 PBM tune).

138/3*2=92,so You could also start in 92 BPM and then build on it 138 BPM - using 6/8, just cut 1/3 part of the first (slow) loop.
144/3*2=96 - in this case you can go even farther, coz 96/3*2=64, so you can make that move twice.

Two options,
one: work on 70 instead of 75 and then it will automatically be half slow but still with the beat- work on it.
and 2nd, work on 140bpm while adding a finished slow audio track with 75 or 70bpm and combine them with some audio play and some pad or such to connect them together, - for example start with the slow one and upon the end start adding some new sounds from the 140bpm(not loops or kick/bass but some atmosphere sounds and play with it)
i hope u understand me,

yes i did
great thinking
but the deep bass is the one which dominate the atmosphere so i need to find the rythem of it and pass it to the 140bpm
tnx btw

you could always just increase the speed gradually and so build the intensity of the bassline from 75 up to 140 bpm. It's best, like said above, to double the slow speed so 70 and 140, or 75 and 150. But of course there are no rules
It possible that by adding more and more of a tap delay you could double the rate of the tune, although best on one instrument. The idea is that for every note of your melody there will be the delayed note slightly later before the next note of the original melody. This may get a bit messy, especially with a bassline though, but I use this a bit to get extra hits perhaps in a drum beat (ghost snares in dnb/breakbeat) or to fill out a synth arpeggio. Best if the original melody is a very simple rhythm tho to make this work.
Have an experiment to see what sounds good.
Sax.

u dont have to keep the same bassline when u move on to 140... but if u really want to do it, try to find a pattern for the bass on 70 bpm that will still be groovy when the same one is played at 140. experiment...........
