you mean bpm?
its impossible in cubase but you can figure it out your self!
upload the track to a channel, take the first kick and put it on the start of a bar. open the "click" by pressing "C".
now listen if it match, if not - change the BPM in cubase till it does!

or maybe cut 4 beats of the wavefile - so that it will loop perfectly.
I'm sure Cubase will be able to determine a BPM of a 4 beat loop.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Yes u can do it in cubase. Make a seamless loop and use the "beat calculator" to determine its tempo.

why to search the bpm in cubase?!

open your wav in soundforge, use the Acid toolbar, just select a bar and it writes the bpm.

because sound forge will give you accurate bpm, even if the bpm is 136.53413...

Mostly in psytrance the bpm doesn't varry much...
but it's kindd'a funny that you can't do a bpm calc within cubase... another thing stienberg should have thought about

There is an easier way in Cubase!

First, make sure the tempo track is turned off. Edit the start of the sample so that it starts EXACTLY on a beat, and move it so that the start of the sample is at the very beginning of the arrangement. Then zoom in so that you can see just over one bar (4 beats) on the screen and select the Time Warp tool. Now grab the first bar-line in the arrange window and move it so that the bar-line falls on the fifth kick-drum beat of the recording (ie. the first beat of the next bar). You should zoom in to make it as accurate as possible. When you've moved the bar-line, re-select the normal mouse pointer (leaving Time Warp mode) and read the tempo off the transport bar.

Should take about 30 seconds.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I do it like that:

1. project/ calculate tempo/ "give" tempo (sorry for bad translation, I don't use an english version)

2. click the space-key to the beat, after some beats I always have the correct tempo.

Maybe not the best method but it works fine for me and I don't even have to import the audiofile, I can click to anything I want Radio, television or my neighbours making love :-(           www.myspace.com/mentris

hehehe i think is best to make it by your self without using the software as an exactly tool ,
i make it like this

1 . i play the track in a cd player
2 . i open the fruty loops , play and click (metronome)
3 . in the mixer i play both
4 . and you can hear the bpm moving pitch

maybe like this way, you can teach your ears and i think its more funnn
