Hello guys!
I've been thinking about this a lot. i manage to make some funky stab sequences from time to time when i actually can be botheres instead of throwing on a melody.

And i thought, "Hey, why don't i export multible different stabs, and make a stab-samplepack to load into my sampler?"

Hm, there are to me some pro's and con's for this.
Do any of you create stab sequences this way?            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

i would usually arrange them as audio clips. with three channels each with different fx you can move clips between channels for different grooves alot easier

good thing about multisample is that you can jam around with it on your midi keyboard / drumkit, whatever... i often use this method..

generally speaking there are always multiple paths to get to the same result. don't ask yourself too much question. go and experiment.

I always load them into a sampler , how else could you PLAY them !? Playing leads to more organic results.

I ve built entire songs like this using a MV8000

Clostest Sampler PlugIN to this workflow is FXPansions Geist or Devine Machine OSR2 + Battery

I like to leave the stabs in MIDI, then modulate as many params in the synth as possible to give lots of variation to the stabs. Then bounce to audio and begin with reverse, warp, FX, etc. IMO the coolest and cleanest sounding modulations will come from automating the synth tho.           --
