Its pretty quite common many people seeking a spiritual life keep themselves away from technology.
It seems there some kind of oposition between both for many people why?
Imagine an spiritual life dedicated to technology research and development for the better. An aproach that encompases a healthier relation with nature, that doesnt imply a progress that destroys but help us to use everything to its full potential.
It would sound naive, but something like the Jedi religion where studyng technology and science is as important as the exploration of our inner self and the understanding of the universe.

Maybe we need both though now that we are playing with atom bombs I think we need to grow spirituality because we have a big mess where everything is run by profit and greed and that is a dangerous scenario to be in with the technology we are discovering. So without the spirituality to balance things our precious technology might only be good for destroying our environment and ourselves.
Also I tend to think that the most incredible technology is what we are… so tapping into our third eye and awakening our spiritual and psychic abilities might be much more powerful than building spaceships or super computers. Like the internet is cool but maybe in an enlightened state of awareness our own mind can connect to a cosmic information network where we can access information from other galaxies, dimensions and higher life forms and spiritual beings. This universe has a lot of possibilities I think
Like the state of mind that somebody like Buddha reached, you know? There are many stories of him doing stuff like walking on water, having telepathy, etc so maybe with our own minds we can tap into greater powers than what technology is giving us now.
Of course I am just playing with an open mind.. it might be easier said than done.. but still
