Hi guys ,
I own a pair of Sony Mdrv-700s and its starting to wear out after 2 years ..
I want to buy a new pair of headphones for DJ'ing purpose and i am confused bween the Technics RPDH-1200 and Sennheiser HD-25..
Many have told me the Sennheiser is better but i have checked the specifications of the technics and it seems "technically" its more sound..
However many ppl say sennheiser is better..
Can u guys advise me on the two and which is a better choice..
And yes i have used the search but cudn't find anything on a one on one comparison bween these 2 models i am looking for ..
Thanks
BOm Bom~

I have the Technics RPDH-1200, and even though I havent tried the Sennheister HD25, I did read reviews stating they were better.
What I can tell you about is the Technics RPDH-1200 headphones.
Bad
- Very heavy
- Clamps down heavily in the ears, uncomfortable.
- Mediocre isolation (you need to turn up the volume more in a PA environment)
Good
- Sturdy design
- Powerfull sound (coloured in the low frequencies)
I also tried the Technics RP-DJ1210 headphones, which I think are at least just as good as the DH-1200 (perhaps even better, less weight).
I like to try different stuff myself, Im going for Ultrasone DJ1 Pro next time.
Will be quite amusing if I end up using a pair of HD-25' s in the end (like so many others) hehe.

hd25 are great. i listened to them and was surprised by the sound they give. the price in local stores is quite high, well they actually cost this money.
though never dj'ed in any of those models.

mmm sennheiser hd 25 r verry good,,, but if u wanna go for the best headphones available in terms of sound clarity and everything else try the sennheiser hd650 ,,, they r hands down the most refined headphones ive ever heard
they r a lil pricey but worth it ,,,
otheriwise sennheiser hd25 r killer too

I used to own a pair of the RPDH-1200's for Dj'in and I hated them! Even though they do have great sound the weight of the headphones will make your ears/neck hurt after a bit.
I havent tried sennheiser yet so I cant really comment on those.
But the Pioneer HDJ 1000's are great headphones in my opinon. Been using them for about 8 months now and they havent shown any sign of wear/tear. They are light weight and comfy around the ears. |

i play with both of those in the last 2 years , and the senhizer obviously better only if because of their volume and size.
with the technics - in big PA system , even on full volume sometimes hard to hear (and i open full bass on the channel i listen to..) while in the hd25 its ok even on 80% volume and not full bass.
now anyone wants technics good as new ? nice price

VArun ... i have treid all but when it comes to party environment i still prefer
rpdj 1210 or rpdj 1200
u can use for long hours set...
Hd 25 in my opinion the sound is too sharp..
good for making music the sound are like studio speakers,, also the rpdj seriese are very durable...
please update me with your decision.

Hi to all..
Thank you everyone for your suggestions..
It was very helpful ..
Did a bit of research and analysis myself and have decided to go for the Sennheiser HD-25 !
Figured its the best option..
@hotbullet..i have used the rpdj 1200 and rpdj 1210 both..all though i agree with you on the sound and light weight, but i feel it doesn't isolate the sound so well when using it in a very loud environment.. and i think the sennheiser's are a bit more lighter comparitively also.. how is the bass in the senn hd-25 compared to the rpdj series ?
Thanks once again..
