I'm in the same boat as you. I don't hate the place, but I don't like it anymore either for two reasons. 1) Lack of space for dancing 2) Smoke... How can you dance when your lungs shut down due to the smoke and there is not enough room to move about anyways?
I mentioned this to TDC crew but got no response.

hmmmm, i actually like club 7 a lot... yes it is not a big commercial club, but for me that's part of the appeal... i think the fact that it's located deep in brooklyn keeps out some of the riff raff and helps preserve the underground feel... i also like how the dj booth is on level with the dancefloor, makes it easier to read the crowd i think and provides a bond between the dancers and the dj... i missed the holiday special, but the one before that there was ample room to dance... |

I strongly prefer the vibe at Club 7...more underground, less bad vibing peeps, no overzealous security, no raised dj booth...it does get too smokey for my taste, but oh well. See y'all there. |

I think it would be cool if people smoked only in the back rooms and outside by the side entrance.

A lotta the crowd on the dancefloor @ Club 7 are well behaved, and refrain from smokin on the floor often. I smoke, but i reserve it for the endin or the beginning, when there are lesser people.
In fact, sumtimes i use the smoke break to get some fresh air (how ironic is that!!).
