Probably it's a buggy warez version of that plugin.

Look into different methods of side chaining. For example you could use waves c1-sc (sidechain version) or for true stereo sidechaining there's a plugin called compadre. Other plugins that enable you to sidechain: bgtech dynamics, voxengo crunchessor, etc...

quick way to sidechain with waves c1 sc:

Create two channels for your trigger and your kick. Use the same sample. Let the kick play dry, without processing. Pan the trigger to the left. Pan your bassline to the right. Create a group channel called sidechain and route trigger and bassline to it. Use the panning utility (Cubase) and set it so you can pan it mono (C/C). Insert a waves c1-sc plugin and set it to l->r, adjust ratio below 3:1, attack 2, release 200, some makeup gain normally leads to a more powerful bassline.

This is just a quick and dirty "tutorial". There are lots of other methods, settings and solutions.

hope that helps.
