does anyone use distortion for the bass lines?
i've tried soft distortion on a vb-1 these days, and it sounds like some hard rinkadink basslines.

Which distortion-plugin do u use for basslines? I like Antares tube very much, but it's for mono things only so in some cases it doesn't work.

Thanks dudes, this just gave me an idea, i just need some gentle distortion on the bass im working on right now, to make it a little more distinct. |

i got good results with the simple cubase distortion, qf didn't work, but i have to say, that i didn't invest much time in qf. |

then you have not stoped using EQ 
filters is s sort of a Eq aswell, isnt it?
i find it good to cut some low freqs on certain basses, in fact most of them but not all, but maybe thats because i have subwoffer so i hear all the rumble.. i like it bass heavy but not too much.
i think about that the track is going to get maximaized so everything needs to be thought about in a bigger perspective, for example; too much reverb and when its boosted its going to sound drowned.. and so on
and muon tau pro is a nice synth with enough parameters to get good sounds 
and if you are not satisfied you can always bounch to wav and edit the file manually...
there are endless options with todays tools..
though im happy to be a strange person |

i'm a bit lazy to be editing wav files 
but i've done that one simple bass phrases... if it gets to 8/10 paterns... phew forget it...
off course i can always creat a layered patch with notes cut within an octave... hmmmmm
