well, intersting event.
Best deco i have ever seen at a event, hands down. Punkadelic is highly recomended to all who have not seen him.
I also have to say the sound was the best it has ever sounded at that venue.
As for the music.... Void, was as i expected, disapointing. I had seen them is Portugal before, and was sadly disapointed then. However i had been told by many a person, that, that show was simply a bad set and they normally rocked it. I can now say after seeing them twice, that, no that was accurate. Bad cheesy vocals, on top of over taxed eq levels, on top of 20 second breaks in between tracks to allow for applause. Way too rock star if you ask me.
Toxic was slightly better. I like some toxic tracks, and really enjoyed hearing those tracks, however to me most of the set reminded me of my days being into UK hard house and NRG, same strait forward style with the main emphasis on build ups.
Ok for a hour or two, mind numbing after that.
However props do go to the locals, who know how to throw down when the party needs it. KJ, Obu, Liam way to go, you guys just prove that SF djs rock.
Overall is was a fun time, nice to get out see alot of people not normally seen, and it was fantastic to get lost in the deco that is punkadelic. |

yeah punkadelik is an amazing visual artist for sure.
Best fluoro decor at any party ever!
i guess the thought was Void and Toxic would somehow please the more progressive half of the scene. NOT. nor did they please the more psychedelic half... there was unity in the scene on that one for once! ::))
had a fun time.
i agree that the sound was the best that space has ever had.
the chill room was great, really great...
happy new year... |

I had a blast at this party. When I walked in and saw the deco my jaw almost dropped: absolutely stunning! The sound system was really booming all night. Void was Void: they rocked it in their own way (Israeli rockstar status) really nice guys thoughs . Toxic was Toxic: I actually quite enjoyed his set, good sounds for the morning. The chill space was awesome also. All in all and awesome party, thanks a lot John!
Thanks for the kind words Lawerence! Definetly so nice to see some familiar faces among so many new ones. |

void was quite bad in my opinion; what actually made it worse for me is that it was actually good and psychedelic in places but they just completely ruined it with all the vocals and the insanely dragged on transitions and buildups... i tried to laugh at it initially but after "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" it wasn't even funny anymore. people seemed to have fun though, especially the raver crowd - so it's all good i guess....
toxic was more tolerable but still way too cheesy for my taste.
of what i heard, liam shy was by FAR the best, his set once again absolutely rocked and kept people dancing till 8:30 in the morning... what a talented young local dj
i was also really impressed with irina mikhailova's vocals in the chill room; i've heard of her before but man, the woman can sing...
punkadelic's art was amazing; thanks to the organizers for letting us enjoy such eye candy
overall, a good time was had, even though i felt i should have saved myself $20 and showed up after 3 |

Gil at Il Pirata was great. several people told me it was their new years celebration of a sort... many many people showed up whom I haven't seen out in a long while. The place was packed completely till the end.

It was great to have live music, Lumin was really powerful Thanks to Irina, Jeff and Suzy
Big thanks to John also, for making it up once again
About the Deco... yes blasting
If you want to get more, Mr Punkadelic is painting a room (think it's 311) in the city. It's a concept hotel where every room is painted ...
