Fingax,

20hz to 23 khz.... ??

be realistic man,
dynaudio air 15 freq response:
33 Hz – 22 kHz with +-3db
( 10" woofer !!! )

i thing alesis starts at 50 minimun,
and i don't wanna talk about its over bass,
and other mid and low curves at the graph.

i have a Mk2 Alesis and i like them a lot. it responds from 20hz to 23khz . i've seen in tannoy web site that the tannoy monitors don'nt respond under 45hz or 65hz acording to model.
So i prefer alesis speackers ( imeen M1MkII) because for production i need the better sound range that's posible.
As Orange said Tannoy are not so good for bass mmonitoring( low freq)
about the beheringer i dont know about them.
Tannoy are quite good but Alesis rocks big time as near field monitors for production
boom

Can't judge monitors by freq range. In any case I wouldn't use cheap and small monitors, like the three models mentioned in this thread, for lowend monitoring.

ok..
Mate,

I mensioned dynaudio air15 because its one of the most accurate monitors that been made,
and just to compare your claim about the alesis frequency response to the air15 freq response.

That isn't the point... its just that there's no way the alesis starts at 20Hertz.

About the link you gave... You can see that the M1-MK2 starts at 50Hz, its a bit higher than 20Hz i guess.

Ohh.. and if you miss it, just try:

Okay, Lets just clearify something:
Most of the cheap monitors sound crappy and will have to be replaced with better ones in a year or two if you want to improve your sound.

As for the three you named, i personally like Alesis monitor one/m1 series rather than new beringhers and tannoy reveals.

As for beringher, their monitors have huge 8.75" LF Woofer which is not ideal for rooms. Their sound is really not great.

As for tannoy reveal monitors, i think they just lack low frequencies and depth. Sound really like a cheap monitors to me, i personally cannot understand how pro musicians can use them...perhaps they can fit with a subwoofer.

In my opinion, its better to save up money and buy better monitors.

Just do yourself a favour and stay away from m-audio bx8 and tapco ones.

Like morax says, Mackie hr624 do cost just 6600nis nowdays and they are way better than the three you named.

My best answer to you is to check them all anyway..after all, its your ears that have to judge, no pictures or other's opinions.

Go and hear them all.
Good Luck,

Monitors arent ment to sound good or pleasing. They are just ment to sound detailed and revealing.
I doubt that many producers would say that Yamaha NS10 sounds "good"...

The thing about Alesis M1 is that I think they sound very smooth and pleasent rather than revealing.

AvS, exactly. When i meant sound good i meant sound real and more transparent.
Yamaha NS10 are unique and good for mid.           "..How would you know that things were good, unless there's something that wasn't good at all.."
