Mark Allen does the same (as he explained in an ineresting article in Newzeek a while ago), so does Cosma- their music rules sound&production-wise as well. |

Itai, as I recall you were the one who claimed hardware is a must. anyways, that's not my point, I just wanted to say that you guys MUST check out #audiowarez in DALNET, to stay updated with the latest standards ;) hehehehehe... |

Well, all of the software is nice and pretty effective, I just can't imagine someone working purely with software when the sound generation isn't 100% of a real analog synth.
And 99% of the time, the effects (especially distortions and phasers) are still REALLY of mark.
You can make amazing things on a computer, and even get proffesional sound quality if you work around some of the limitations on the PC, but you still won't be able to do a raging lead like in Hallucinogen - Trancespotter no matter how hard you try.
And I tried =) |

asaf- actually, i belive that for home music making, audio work will almost always achive better sound results and greater satisfaction to the maker cuz of the horrible mix problems u have when trying to record midi at home. u need a GOOD consule, u MUST have a DAT in ordr to achive a decent sound. and i'm not even starting to talk about compressors. and all these nice goodies cost a lot of money.
