hey S-cube,
i can't give you a very accurate information on the production, ..i'm no pro... altough i'll tell you what sounded nice, and not so nice to me.
to start from the low to the top...
i think your kick doesn't have enough low-sub presence/volume .. this can be due to the sound and/or volume of your bassline.
i didn't like the bassline ...here it sounds hollow...and i don't really know how to tell you in a more pro way..but to me you're exagerating on the bassline processing..maybe the volume is extremelly high and you somehow pulling too much the 200-500hz section of it..it looked to me like that (maybe some distortion plug is make this)...
i enjoyed the middles ..i think they fairly balanced... from 5Khz to up...your open hats sounded 'too much inside a box'...give them more space..and/or a little bit of volume up..
but in the end i think it's just a matter of taste, so keep those tracks commin'!

Hey OpTikoOl,
I think you're right about the kick being drowned out by the bass even though i'm sidechaining..
As for the bass i only cut out frequencies from it, i never boost so i guess its probably the bass enhancers that are messing something up..Was working on this track at a low volume as it was quite late, gonna crank up the monitors tommorow which will probably reveal the mistakes you pointed out..Going to check out the hats too..
Thanks for the feedback man its exactly the kind of advice i was looking for

Havent heard the original. this sounds really nice, maybe try to make the bass a bit softer, mabe cut some high freqs just like opticool said, maybe remove the quadrafuzz . the melodies are really nice imo. i would exclude the part 4:50-5:50, it doesnt fit to the drive of the track imo.
Nice music mate, cant help you much with the sound cuz i dont listen on monitors now.

wooo i don t remember the original but i m sure i prefer this one hehe, great arrangment S-Cube ,about the production, it s a matter of taste, i think i m not better than you so not sure i ll give you good advice but for me there is not enought low to make the track sound fat, and the high of your leads sound too hard to the ears, they eat the space for the hats try to cut them neer 9000/12000 hertz maybe it can help.good style you have. |
