first thing: these topics belong in the workshop section.

besides that, your track is not bad at all, considering you just started out recently. very clean sounding, nice sound selection and you got a good groove going. i think you should look more into song structure: your intro is very techno- and not very psy-like, which is a good or a bad thing depending on what you want to achieve. also look into how other artists build tension and maintain interest in their tracks.

i hope that was helpful.

Thanks!

I'm really struggling with the whole structure thing. I subscribed on sonicacademy.com so i'm learning a lot from their tutorials at the time.

I want to put some sounds in the intro but i find it pretty hard to pick/build something that fits in.. I will propably learn that later on

the track sound fairly solid... but the mix is way too much dry

you dont use send aux fx dont you??

like reverb or chorus?

pick a percussive reverb setup with a small room and add it to a SEND, then start adding small % of it to the elements on the mix, its something you dont need to do it with to much intesity most of the time you will not notice big diference perhaps, but it will give more "life" to your main mix...

specialy with percussive elements

the structure is also a bit quiet, but thats normal since you are newbie in terms of production, better that way than chaotic mixes, it means you can built things going solid, just try to add more elements, make ritms and oscilate them, make the people stay with the music and not change the track...

hope it helps

I'm glad other people than me enjoy listening to Neelix haha

Love your track, but it's way dry yes, feel free to add some reverb as adviced            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

Youre right, its really dry! I use some send effects, but i never really played around with it.. I'll try that.

Thanks to both of you.

This is pretty awesome! Love the little quirky sounds and the groove it builds.           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut
