Konnichiwa!

I'm studying Japanese since a year back thus I've recently discovered Taiko music. I wonder if anyone here's into Taiko as well and if you could give me a few tips about some groups besides Kodo, who got me into this, which has released Taiko music on CD. Can anyone help me, please? Thanks in advance. If somebody can pinpoint me to a Japanese e-shop that sells original Dir En Grey clothing I'd be happy as well (no Hong Kong/Taiwan remakes, please.. ha ha).

Hey Scobbah,

Check out Gocoo and Goro units. They used to tour with Juno Reactor a few years ago.
I do not know them personally, however, this group consists about 10 ppl jaming and very danceable rythm. It amazed me a while ago.

Hey there Shed and thanks for your reply!

I'll check them out immediately, as it sounds quite interesting to me. Kodo's music is really neat, at least for the "less digital" tracks where there are no classic basslines and atmospheres added, resulting in pure drums reverbing into lovely soundscapes. I saw a documentary a while ago about an English or perhaps it was a Scottish female percussionist who travelled around the world co-operating with different groups, geographically ranging from Tokyo to New York. In the shot about the Tokyo act, she performed with some group, I don't think it was Kodo but I cannot remember, and the performance, which was non-public in the clip by the way, was really awesome. Anybody know which documentary I'm speaking of and hence may lead me further into this musical lake?

Thanks for your kind words Shed! Right now there's mainly some Japanese-inspired (Miike is the sh*t ) music being melted together with my solo project Kiriyama these days, hopefully you'll enjoy those beats as well. Keep an eye out if you please for our next compilation on Devils Mind, which will be out in the next two weeks I believe.

Ki wo tsukete.
