I heard at the weekend that Tribe Of Frog are promoting the new Shpongle album launch party ! I'm sure details will follow.

Last Saturdays T.O.F. was ok, but the venues owner did seem a bit obsessed with us in the outdoor chill area turning the music down, by the time Ott played he was actually asking him to disconnect the bass speakers. Otts Dub with no bass Whaaaaaaaaaaa !
But the Tribe Of Frog vibe wins the day, the secret of any all night event is it has to be a nice enviroment to spend 8 or more hours and the Frogs party certainly is I met loads of people, marveled at the decor, the lights, the Impressive thunder storm that kicked off at about 2am (giving the Outdoor chill area that edgy , "Force of nature " atmospheric). it was a good night.

Sweet.... glad you all had a good time. Sorry to hear that the promoter was turning it down. To me, Ott's dub with no bass would almost warrant a refund .

it was the best chillout area i've witnessed for ages...
jason and co. transformed half the courtyard into a perfect chill out...a nice covered seating area and dancefloor.....and in the other half you had the outside part with fire ....it was perfect......and to d.j. in it at sunrise was an absolute dream come true...

there were lots of dramas and tests.....rainwater seeping into the d.j. booth and the dodgy owner and his security(not the promoter) trying to stop the music 15 minutes early but we got through(and the rain stopped just in time)....positive triumph-ing as always...here's to lots more very soon xXx

and the music in the chill was FANTASTIC...a lot more diverse....old and new...
Cosmonaughty;it was such a shame you were turned down but what i did hear really moved...

Ott;as ever dubtastic...never mind the bass-less...

Dubnophobia....great guitar-fusion...

all in all nice to hear a lot of different stuff...

and all so inspiring from when i came on to play XXX

Yes, my mistake. I meant owner, not promoter, in my post. All apologies.

I'm pretty sure it's not "Apple Tree is my backyard"... I have the Y.I.D.pt2 and would recognize that track for sure. As for "Celtic Sufi"... I don't have that track on anything I own and as far as I know I don't think I've ever heard it. If that WAS it...then I need to pick it up... is it on a comp??

Sorry, excuse my ignorance. Haven't listened to YIDpt2 in awhile - quick explanation. I do design work for a major distributor who pays me every now and then in CD trade so when I get new CD's its like 30 or more at a time so most tracks have to really hit home for me to remember them. (I've got over 20 discs still in shrinkwrap right now I'm trying to find time to listen to) Off the top of my head, "Appletree in my backyard" , "Liquid Room" and "Spectral Beach" were my favs. I think I forgot about "Celtic Sufi" becuase the bassline is kinda similar to "Turn it Around - youth remix" off the first Y.I.D., and I dig that remix so even when I kicked up Celctic Sufi just awhile ago, I wanted to stop it and play Turn it Around remix instead. haha

Stupid me tho, I could have scrolled through the ipod and found I had it.... I try to use my memory more than anything, but sometimes if fails me. Praise Jah. haha!

Anyways, my point being, I did some close analysis and there is NO organ in the Celtic Sufi track at all. Maybe someone is mixing out of the Celtic Sufi track becuase the tempo is close. But I'm interested in the track that has that Ott-like organ which is playing when the cameraman gets in the thick of the chill-dancers. Then it turns into abunch of distorted doof and I have to close my browser to protect my senses. hahaha!

C'mon, one of you DJ's please help me identify that track. Ott?? Can you confirm or deny? It's important... I'm addicted to that organ sound.

sorry i can't confirm anything...i can't remember hearing 'appletree' or any of that album but maybe someone did....only ott or cosmo can help...

maybe it was some of dubnophobias new album..

they were playing some very dubby, eclectic stuff...

despite the bass bins being turned off so early it was a fantastic chillout....space and atmosphere-wise...
