No, I don't agree. For me, the more synthetic the better. But if you want some live instruments, check out a Japanese group called Uni. There's also Shpongle of course. |

it has to be synthetic..after all it is technology based.....but there are a lot of tracks that have the instruments playing......most artists have a few tracks like that.....listen to as much as you can, youll find some..... |

@ Jack- bein technology driven is good... but is so much of perfection for real.

sorceress... Skazi uses a guitar in most, if not all his creations
check out gtr and element... really
Uni is amazing also... if ur looking for true instrument sounds.
others:
Psycraft - Topgun on the b trance compil from HOMmega (alot of psycraft has live elements)
Etnoscope - Drums from the Dawn of Time (this album never gets old)
Feuerhake - La Aurora (incredible spanish guitar trance)
thats all i can come up with right now

I am not as much of a fan of most natural instruments. The only natural instruments that I am into is for percussion. I like the really unnatural computer sounding stuff... But that's just me. I think some stuff on Organic Records might be toward what you might like.

well the first thing that got me into psychedelic was the idea of hearing sounds that do not exist, only computers and technology can explore the universe in this way, thats whats all about!!
i love hearing sounds and noises that dont exist in our everyday reality, i definitely think that exploring this virtual realities is what constitutes this music as psychedelic
so no, i dont agree with the idea that psychedelic trance needs more "real" instruments, we need better and more crazy equipment!

I think if you want this kind of instruments check out the dub and ambient scene, not the doof doof scene... real instruments can add a nice touch but seriously Psytrance is electronic music and so it is synthetic sounds, rather simple reasoning for it all |

If you wanna hear electronic music with sounds that are twisted and weird and just plain experimental, check out bands like V. (the 'awrkid and pbparagol fiancees cd's work really good... <like mindfucks hahaha)search for the zeromoon label on google) There are lots of netlabels on the internet that deliver experimental electronic music, and it's all free... The thinner label and autoplate label deliver some excellent dub/ambient works. Webbed Hand Records is excellent for ambience, so do yourself a favor and check those out people!!
And ofcourse Autechre. (If you don't know them, go shame your butt off, they've been at it since what?? 1992??)
THEN, and only then, can you talk about electronic music... hehehe
Compared to these acts psytrance is just kidswork (but it still is my fave music) lol
