I've seen mixers with little papers written saying the instruments for each fader, don't know if there are any mixers that have that option also, like a LCD display to write it, that would be quite cooooll!

Hardware control surfaces like Mackie Control, Houston and Control 24 have LCD or LED displays that can show which mixer channel or function each fader is currently assigned to. I don't know of any analogue mixer that does this cheaper than about £50,000.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Here's what commercial studio's do. We get a strip of masking tape or insulation tape (any tape that hasn't got too much glue will do) and place it over the bottom of the mixer.
We then take a pen and write below each channel so we can quickly see what's where (handy when you're working with 64 channels!).
