Totally not true....in the early days of electronic music there were lots of artists that were as experimental as autechre etc are today.....Delia Derbyshire and David Vorhaus for example.....

That side...I think synthesized classical instruments have a certain vibe and charm that would not be there if using acoustic instruements....Its got that retro-futuristic vibe.and certainly the early adopters of synths thought so...which is why people like wendy carlos created switched on bach and also one my favs Isao Tomita....
