Hello,

I have a Virus KB, and I want to send it a parameter change, using Cubase (changing the value of osc1keyfollow, in this case).
How do I do it?

10x in advance

I don't have a virus, but I assume you can record the change in your parameter, see how cubase records it (using controller change or program change, whatever) and then use it.
Maybe it records with sysex, which is more complicated. Record yourself to see how it works... That's how I do it anyway.

you may need the virus controller map.
its a pic of the virus with the numbers on the nobs.
each nob connect to a number on the cubase.

Alright, I recorded the parameter change in sysex (parameter A21 in the Virus). I can hear the change and see it in the list editor. How can I edit the parameter change graphically?

Can you edit the parameter with a MIDI Controller?

I probably can, but it doesn't matter now; I managed to change the parameter using sysex, and edited it as desired in the list editor. It works fine now.

10x anyway

Hi, you should press twice on the controller switch in the cubase editor you'll get a window with two controllers number thats the controller finder move the requested knob and the controller number would change to its number than press OK and you're on it.

psytom, maybe u meant "which thing do i open in order to draw parameter changes in cubase"
its this:
in the matrix editor (the piano roll editor) below the matrix of notes, ther's a controller (usually showing vertical bars - these are "note on"'s), u choose the controller number and draw it. some of them have names, or numbers,it works in GM though, so if virus KB has non GM parameters - u'll have to mess with sysex anyway.

Firstly, thanks for your help.

1. The Virus is non-GM indeed, so I solved the problem using sysex.

2. Amir, did you mean the continous controller window? Well, the method you mentioned doesn't work, maybe 'cause the Virus is non-GM.
