are the knobs assignable in CS2X ?

Yes. It has a total of 8 knobs, 2 assignable. The other 6 are: attack, release, decay, lpf, hpf and resonance. But you can give them another function, so it will do their original purpose and in addition something you give it. For example you can assign reverb to resonance and then it will control both at the same time. Can be useful in some cases.

Umm... Well their dedicated channel is 1. It's a little complicated to explain...
When I make tracks for example I never use channel 1. Channel 1 is a sound with lotsa effects on it, but I just add effects thru the computer. So I use my sequencer for it, I select in cakewalk the channel I want, my CS1x sends it thru to channel 1, but cakewalk echoes it back on the selected channel and in this way I can control all channels.

I'm using the CS1x, but the CS2x is basically just a beefed up CS1x.
