I had a bunch of presets that were saved in FL Studios native format for Synth 1. I imported them to FXP but I can't figure out how to import them to Synth 1 on Ableton. I click on 'Opt' and select the folder but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can save the preset to '.sy1' or import the FXP file?

I think it's better to save them manually inside of fl studio.
create an empty folder inside synth1 folder. name it as you want.
go to opt, to add that empty folder as a bank.
open the presets one by one, and use the write option to save them into the new bank.
make sure you select the right bank each time. and change the programs (1 to 128 per bank) to save them in order, without overwrite any of them.

Yeah, when you have have Fruity Loops or a DAW which works with FXP/FXB - its the way.
But when you haven't such DAW on windows, the free SaviHost should work as a DAW with the preset processing as you explained... |

Thanks Mathura. Didn't know such softwares existed. Might come in handy sometime.
@Splikz. That worked really well. Although some presets didn't get copied correctly. Distorted sound etc. Wonder why. Anyway - got most of them back.

I never had problems with synth1. but I always managed it inside ableton.
to me, the fst format is good only for the fl native plugins and synths. |
