Have you looked into systemlink?
When you say midi, do you mean without midi cables, or without using midi whatsoever, because else you can use midi-over-lan to sync them, which requires no midi interfaces, just ethernet ports. (And its also an excellent way of syncing mac & pc, and its very stable)
