Hello
I need some help. I'm trying to hook up two PCs running windows 7 and Cubase 5 in such a way that when Cubase 5 is open in both, when i hit play the timeline on both PCs should running together and in sync.
Now, i know this can be done through Midi by transmitting MTC over MIDI cable and using a MIDI I/O, but is it possible over Ethernet?
I dont have a MIDI I/O but i do have ethernet ports.
Please help.
Cheers

you could try this http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.html
I think that would do the job, idk i havent tried it, I use the same guy's loopMIDI to run my pocket pc as a midi controller, and if rtpMIDI is anything like it it will do the job easy.
let me know if it works instructions are on the link

Sorry but: No
Cubase would need some sort of interface/plugin or something like that to sync with another instance of cubase on another host. It would have to wrap its MIDI Data into Ethernet pakets for the other instance....
Maybe there is some piece of software/hack or so out there but I never heard of anything like that yet.
