Hey Isra! a friend of mine wants to become a DJ, not a composer/producer, but he's really interested in mixing trackas together to make mashups, DJ sets and live mixes, so on.
So both him, and i, we wonder.
How do we sync wav-samples to have the same rythm and BPM?
For example Levels by Avicii and Angel dust by DNA
Levels is at 132bpm, Angel dust is at 140
Could we mix both to be 135?
Discuss tecniques?

I said I like it dirty, not muddy. |

Might I recommend using software such as Traktor, or just good old fashion CDJ's to accomplish this task?
Ableton would also work for what you want.
If he's not planning to compose/produce, there is really no point in using a complicated DAW such as Logic. Logic is very powerful software and can do a lot. It can certainly do what you want here. However, I really think you're trying to use something really overpowered for what you want to do.
Honestly, most of the major gripes in the DJ community regarding "laptop DJ's" is that a great many of them are using the software to do the mixing, beatmatching, etc., for them automatically. If this is all you are doing, mixing tracks together, you're still MUCH MUCH better off learning how to mix and beatmatch the old fashion way. If you're going to software route in this area, using Traktor with a controller still allows you to manually change tempo and beatmatch, as well as similar controls for dropping tracks in at specific places. If you're wanting to do more looping and micro-sampling you might be happier using Ableton than Traktor. The point is, instead of trying to use the tools to automatically DJ for you, if you're going to use something fully featured, find new uses for the software (ie: full Live sets such as what Tom Cosm does). If you just want to mix tracks and make mashups, there's nothing wrong with doing it the old fashion way.

i am curious about this too , i red a little bit about beat mapping , but it seems to me like this option would be too much work to do a whole track , although for shorter audio clips it works great...

the way i understood it , u actually would have to align every Downbeat to your grid , i am hoping there is an easier way or that maybe i'm not getting it right... |
