There are many ways to sync, the two main families are called timecode and word clock!

Many different types of cables can be used to sync, for instance spdif, aes/ebu, XLR cables and even ethernet cables for digital consoles, depending on what you want to syncm to what... Most of the time though you would sync it over the sound cards via midi, depending on the sound cards with or without a midi clock box.

What sound cards do you use?

Midi is often used to sync, but with longer cables and through daisy chaining with other elements (eg. hardware synths) you get latency, meaning a slight delay, the longer the chain of instruments. Using a star pattern is best when syncing several components.

When you sync 2 sequencers on different computers , make sure both have the same sampling rate (usually it is 44.100 hz sampling rate when it comes to music) or you will get problems.

Somewhere on here and sometime ago (maybe a year or more) I wrote a full explanation on syncing. I am too tired to explain the whole thing now, but this post should give you an idea on how to proceed..

This link should also help...

Both of these sound cards have Spdif jacks, depending on your drivers and softwares you could sync the 2 via Spdif ! Up to four PHASE 22s can be cascaded and synced up in a computer via a single driver. I am not sure if you could sync it with the m audio, but I would give it a try.           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
