Starbucks wouldn't even charge this much. Please Bephree and Mistress please say how this fetival is unheard of thus far in the USA? Why does it matter if it's on par or exceeding those standards set by international festivals? Deep respect for community, environmental consciousness and ecological sustainability is not new.Non-profit sponsorships would of been a good for this community oriented effort.

Dear Charlie Brown...

I would argue that environmental consciousness and ecological sustainability IS new for festivals. Have you ever worked on a cleanup crew?

We are attempting to move beyond traditional greenwashing and into a next-level commitment of regeneration of earth, body, spirit, and community. Our current moment is fraught with reactionary ecological initiatives and empty promises. We hope to create Symbiosis Gathering in a way that allows us to manifest our potential as a source of inspiration.

In 2006 and 2007, Symbiosis Gathering, in conjunction with EcoGatherings, held a three-day and a four-day permaculture workshops. While sessions covered particular topics, the intent is not necessarily to teach anything specific. Instead it is to inspire thoughtful and protracted observation to reduce our ecological footprint while holding fast to the spirit of sustainable hedonism.

For example, in 2006 the clean up effort was monumental. We spent a week after the festival cleaning up, separating recycling, and cleaning up what would best be described as a party cluster fun bomb... of beer bottles. In 2007, we intended to reduce the amount of waste AND AT THE SAME TIME reduce the amount of work we had to do after the festival. Between creating a dishwashing station (because compostable plates RARELY get composted), setting up a solid recycling program, and not giving our guests anything to throw away, we reduced our trash content by over 70%!!! This wasn't just a warm fuzzy to feel good about the environment, we also reduced our cleanup time. Win-win!!!

We hold our event to be a window of opportunity where folks who may not have time to learn about permaculture, embodied movement, or the mystical nature of physics an opportunity to take a moment out of the techno-industrial 9-5, 401K world into a atmosphere of communion and celebration. It is not our intention to teach lessons, rather we intend to inspire the admiration, awe, and beauty of the world we live in. We believe that living in awe, more than anything, can help us to shift our behavior so we may live more harmoniously with the myriad creatures of the universe.

In reality, answering these questions is like describing a rose to a blind person. Experience speaks louder than message boards. I invite you, but do not demand you, to COME AND SEE what the fuss is all about...

PS...We had another festival that we described as "the same festival you can see anywhere in the USA, not very ecological, and nearly inhospitable to community, consciousness and sustainability" but it didn't seem to sell. We decided to switch things up a bit...

Pre-Gathering Flower of Life Workshop with Bob Frissell
www.bobfrissell.com

On September 15-17, 2009 Bob Frissell will be hosting a Flower of Life Workshop at the Evergreen Lodge.

KUNDALINIAND THE BIRTH OF THE UNITY GRID

Since the dawning of the new millennium, two events have occurred that are changing everything. The first is the movement of the Earths’ Kundalini, which happens every 13,000 years and is tied to the precession of the equinoxes.

The second major event was the birthing of the new grid in January 2008. Its’ conception began 13,200 years ago when Thoth, Ra, and Araragat began the synthetic reconstruction of the grid in the Giza plateau. Its’ birth lasted about one month, with the assistance of Polynesian elders

The Christ-consciousness grid has been fully formed and birthed, it is now alive and conscious; it is a living energy field around the Earth, and this changes everything. Mother Earth has made a conscious decision to move into the higher overtones of the fourth dimension.

These two events have put us into a different potential world, we are now in a heart based energy field; when you connect to it , new possibilites open up. This means our spiritual acceleration will quicken dramatically, there is nothing left to stop it.

It also means that within the next seven years or so (from 2009),the entire cycle that we are now on will disappear in a single day. In its’ place is a birth where a whole new world, based not on the mind, but rather on the heart will emerge. We are right on the edge of this, everything is in place; the Kundalini has moved, the grid is alive. Yet most of the world continues, thinking this is the way it will be forever, hardly imagining that something incredible is about to occur.

This along with many other mind expanding topics will be covered in my September 15-17 Flower of Life workshop. You will learn how to accelerate the ascension process, assist with planetary transformation, achieve contact with your Higher Self, and remember your mission on Earth.

The ascension process is accelerated through the remembrance of the MerKaBa, a crystalline energy field in a specific geometric structure extending around the body for 55 feet.

Workshop and registration information is available by contacting info@bobfrissell.com.

Why is "this type of festival" unheard of thus far in the USA?

Are you talking about music or ecological initiatives?

Musically, the US doesn't have many large scale electronic festivals. There's the Winter Music Conference and Decibel festival which are in cities and not campouts, there's Coachella which is totally corporate, and we have Burning Man where everyone is a DJ and very few are world class artists...

However, Symbiosis Gathering is not just about the music, as we have super potent and amazing workshops that would be phenomenal standing as their own conference, as well as live painting by visionary artists, performance troupes, interactive ecological installations, a kids zone, all organic food, great vendors, and BM type art projects.

Nothing has to be on par with international standards, however, since our production team has been to these festivals and have had wonderful transformative experiences at them we hold them to be our role models. We look up to Boom, Universo Parallelo, Rainbow Serpent. They are an inspiration to us and we hope we can inspire the people that create and attend these incredible events.

Ecologically, I've never heard of an event going to the extent that we are to reduce our ecological footprint. We are WAY more concerned with having a great time in HARMONY with the earth than making a profit.

It costs WAY MORE to do this eco and organic but WE ARE DOWN FOR THE CAUSE... Let's bring back the PLUR and add ECO!

(Disclaimer... I love that there are events posted here on Isratrance in the US that I have NOT gone to... Go TEAM!!!)

Did that answer the question?

Don't forget DEMF in the USA -- but you're right, there are not alot to choose from!

I really want to check out Decibel (killer lineup... reminds me of MUTEK in the US perhaps?) -- but its the week after touchsamadhi equinox! grr. Next year!

for some reason, WMC never really appealed to me...

That thing in the desert might be fun to go to at least once, but the local burn (Transformus) has me bored to tears after going many years in a row... not enough enjoyable EDM...

Pascal doin sound for ya'll this year?

We don't like to throw numbers around but we've had over a 50% increase in attendance each year!

Here's a couple pictures of some epic moments on the dance floor in 2007.

Holy shit. Get over it dude. If you're so concerned then you should have volunteered and actively made the difference you put on to be so concerned about yourself.
