just wanted to point out that there are only 3 artists on this lineup that are really dubstep artists - caspa, mala, and n-type (all of whom write fucking excellent music).
heyoka, mimosa, flying skulls, and a few of the other artists (many of whom write excellent music as well) may flirt with dubstep, but aren't strictly dubstep artists ...i think you're confusing dubstep with the glitch-hop/burner breaks stuff, which is also heavy on the sub-bass frequencies and definitely out in full force at this event.

Exactly.
One more time - sick sick lineup worth 180USD imho (it's good to stick your psyhead out of the box once in a while ).

i would never pay to see bassnectar play. seen him several times for free, and there have been a few quality tracks here and there, but not really often enough.
as to the lineup, this would make a totally kick-ass party:
Amon Tobin,
Extrawelt,
Shadow FX vs Tetrameth
Deepchild,
Penta
and a few others maybe. so kudos on sneaking some good stuff in there.
not really sold on the whole played-out SF burner-glitch-psy-dub-furry-leggings-breaks-step. good luck with it though, hope you make your money back.

oh and btw did the trancers notice that there are only 2 full on acts and 1 night time act playing?
the rest trance type stuff is various forms of prog, which while i will enjoy Atmos, Tetrameth and in particular Flowjob
that is not a much of a lineup to entice the serious psy trancer
which i also find ironic since Symbiosis is a originally a descendant from Gratitude and the Goa-Play crew

Atmos Gratitude Man the best of the good old days!
Oh! and I used to drive hours not even knowing who was going to play, but knowing that I was going to go crazy and dance a dust storm Just go if you want to and stay home if you don't. Trust your gut and don't complain about what other people are doing. |

Too much money. I am sure that the organizers could charge less and still make enough but who am i to judge. When people are determined to make money nothing will stop them... |

yeah it is, much to the annoyance of us non- feather / leather hippy bling types, who are more interested in going to dance, vs going to be seen and be as pomp-ass as possible

just as played out as Israeli full-on.
Getting bigger doesn't mean the music is still evolving, usually just the opposite. and they haven't brought glitch mob back to denver in a long time 'cuz everyone is so sick of the same sound they've been pushing for the last 3 years. booring.

Symbiosis crew, hands down throw some of the best parties all around, the last 2 times i went....
the things i'm not very impressed about:
-booking simon and bassnectar for the millionth straight year(cant take any more gamma...)
-not more good dancing psy acts....
-search people for booze??!

We're not searching people for booze... That's the point. Its why we are not selling alcohol... It was our choice: either sell beer and search cars or BYOW and no search. We chose no searchie...
Also two artists make up 1.5625% of our lineup... We have 128 artists and we've only released about 60...
Stay with us for a couple more days and then we can REALLY talk about how crappy the lineup is...

Why should the motivation for throwing this party be any of your business??? And what is wrong with organizers making money, or even doing a party specifically to make money, not that this appears to be that kind of festival. If you don't like it, go to another festival... There are plenty of psy centric line ups out there thrown by organizers hell bent on losing money through idealism, rather than mixing up the sound for the sake of the oh so evil profit. |
