i can't believe on what i am reading.

this is an amazing festival: diverse, conscious and inovative.

and you are there complaining for a couple of hunds....

in brasil it is usual to pay 200 reais...that might be 100 dollars....but it has the weight of 200 dollars in OUR pockets.

you get what you pay for. and this one is so worth 200 bucks.

If you want an all trance festival...dude...when was the last time a psy-trance festival has gathered more than 1000 people in the US? it need to be multicultural to be a festival, which means a party over 1500 people (source: dj mag)

get over the underground labeling...it's all in your minds...

i'm so happy to be going there again. i been to bm, boom, universo paralello and many others and i can tell you, its soooooooooooo worth it.

Turbo Sound... Fly PA.... many killer live shows... amazing location in the nature where the Greateful Dead used to compose music... all eco-oriented built and no garbage produced....

To be honest the only festival I ever played in California, but one of the best for me together with Universo Paralello, Boom, Voov and some others...

It might be with Gaian Mind and BM the only ones with international expression happening in US these days...

And as everybody knows, You pay less you get less quality.

Hope to be there again !
Namaste,

These are not the only ones, get your facts straight. International artists are booked for almost every party, at least here in California.

Not true. While everybody knows that you get what you pay for, it remains organizer's resposibility to live up to their promises and deliver quality production. How they distribute their funds is entirely up to them and there is no guarantee that if they charge a lot they will use every penny wisely.

In case of Symbiosis, the two times I went I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the events. It just did not use to cost so much. Seems odd to jack up the price in the overall weak state of economy.

oh and btw did the trancers notice that there are only 2 full on acts and 1 night time act playing?

the rest trance type stuff is various forms of prog, which while i will enjoy Atmos, Tetrameth and in particular Flowjob
that is not a much of a lineup to entice the serious psy trancer

which i also find ironic since Symbiosis is a originally a descendant from Gratitude and the Goa-Play crew

Kevin, For those of us that have got you there how do we go about getting the $150 Eric special tickets? Sounds reasonable since we were not given chance of early bird sales. Also my wife would like to know the tax on vodka as she drinks.

As far as the alcohol is concerned... If we sell beer we are required to create a "beer garden" and require ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES to be consumed INSIDE it. All boozers would be in a cage by the music... bum deal...

Additionally... we would have to search EACH AND EVERY CAR as they came in and CONFISCATE ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES... bum deal...

Instead... we have offered a BYOW policy which will work as long as folks respect the golden rules of being good to one another and themselves. We like this option WAY better.

If you want... I will offer a $150 ticket to anyone who wants my parking head Eric to search their car on the way in and tax their alcohol. For every beer we will tax $3 which is a fair markup for a festival beer.

If you bring in more than 10 beers to our 5 (five) day event it would end up costing you more than the $180 ticket so in the end WE ARE SAVING YOU MONEY... Unless you don't drink... and you got me there...

ACL festival here in Austin is $265 at the door, only 3 days, and music only runs from noon-10pm. This is actually a great deal in comparison. Future Fest here in Austin this weekend is one night and $60 if you multiply that by 4 nights, $240

The line up is really nice. Amon Tobin in the redwoods would be sick!

Vodka... How about $15 corkage fee? Email me at kevin at symbiosis events and we can work something out. 20 available...

And to tell you the truth, we are not a psytrance festvial, we are an eclectic gathering with trance... because we like it.

well we all know, that Symbiosis is not a trance festival anymore.....

though i remember the 1st one at the Boy scout camp

that was a trance party, with a 2nd breaks stage and 3rd lounge stage

funny how things morph and change as they grow...

but we all know all to well... trance does not bring the numbers or $$..., so you gotta have the other stuff to pack em in
but i do think the past symbiosis offerd much more trance

Who can forget Protoculture 3 years ago on the Bassmax..
just epic

this year it feels more like its a after thought

i hope though that any of these other acts that are being booked are not more dub step....
cause while i do know its the "hot money making genre" these days

symbiosis this year does have a very, very ,very dubstep heavy lineup...

just wanted to point out that there are only 3 artists on this lineup that are really dubstep artists - caspa, mala, and n-type (all of whom write fucking excellent music).

heyoka, mimosa, flying skulls, and a few of the other artists (many of whom write excellent music as well) may flirt with dubstep, but aren't strictly dubstep artists ...i think you're confusing dubstep with the glitch-hop/burner breaks stuff, which is also heavy on the sub-bass frequencies and definitely out in full force at this event.          http://www.djnod.net

Here’s your first look at our 2009 lineup… and these are just the starters! We’re not finished announcing everybody yet…!

We are a fully permitted event where you can be sure that:

a)you won't have to run through the woods with your worldly possessions as the cops bust the party

b)nor will you have to leave when you are in no condition to drive with no particular place to go

c)nor be shot at by an adjacent landowner who just wants some peace and quiet

I gotta say.... Ive seen wayyyyy too much of all three of these occurrences at events lately!!! not just in the states, but globally. 180$ for 5 days might be worth it just for that... as long as there's no "break" time (turning the sound off periodically)           info/tourdates/psy

Usually I think it's nice for the sound to turn off, for at least a short time in the mid afternoon. I think it's a good refresher for the coming evening... especially at multi day festivals. On that note, I'd rather have more acts spread over more days than 24hrs straight everyday.           http://www.soundcloud.com/djKAHN

well then you should come back out to Iowa soon mr Bodhi if the neighbors dont like it we'll turn it up!

I didnt realize this was 5 days, and now that I see that I feel that it does look like a really stellar party!

I know this is a wild shot in the dark but would there by chance be any room for an original Psyowa trance native on the lineup? (mindoutpsyde.com) I could play a rockin' south africanish set that'd be sure to vibe with all tribes at least in some way or other Id even volunteer too

Performance submissions are closed for this year and we book mainly producers, however feel free to send us something in November for 2010.

Volunteer opportunities are plentiful at this time. Earlier shifts going fast...

PS... Bettendorf in the house...
