yeah for sure.... nice lineup
but perhaps the symbiosis orgs should perhaps focus their efforts on not catering so much to the the Bass-nectar loving trustafarians who dont work and have mommy and daddys money to burn thru
and maybe keep the rest of us in mind...
They do a excellent job with this event, and regularly loose their asses on it, but by asking so much, and continually ignoring and not booking alot of the local community they risk allienating themselves from those that made them in the 1st place

Questions about ticket prices?
This event is sponsored by YOU! We have no sponsors at this event, nor is Symbiosis profiting from alcohol consumption. Our focus is on bringing you a fully legal, multi-day outdoor event with world class artists and entertainment, in an atmosphere of utmost respect for our environment and community. We hope you find value in this experience, and take advantage of low price tickets while they are available.
$125 tickets sold out before we released the lineup and $150 sold out shortly after.
We feel that $180 is a fair ticket price and that $250 is expensive enough to encourage people to buy their tickets early.
If resources are an issue we are offering numerous opportunities to earn FREE tickets by volunteering before or during the event.
Stay tuned on http://www.symbiosisgathering.com/news/volunteers/ for more details...

i dont know, its still a very hefty mark up from past years, and while im sure the new location costs more than angels camp...
I dont think the lineup is that much more massive
maybe stop booking Posford for the same damn set, hes played every year...save 5 grand and pass it on to the event goer

At an exponentially larger figure... the location costs are just a smidge more than angels camp but seriously, you could buy a decent house in Berkeley for the same price.
This is the sole reason for the high ticket price, but we felt that once people arrive and experience this place they will be more than pleased with the money they spent. the quality of the music, the art, and the fact that this is the most amazing location we've ever seen in the united states is going to make this the best underground electronic music festival on the West Coast.
We'd love to include more trance this year and book several locals. We spent a whole day walking over this massive location looking for a place to put a trance stage that runs 24 hour a day. We had a killer line up full of local Dj's (which included mr. Paradigm). We just couldn't fit it anywhere that wouldn't clash with another sound system or blow out the camping areas. So we've mixed the trance in on the other stages as we have in previous years and this reduces the available dj slots. The majority of the full-on will be Live acts with a few locals doing prog and mini tech. If we outgrow this location some day we will definitely be having a dedicated trance stage. But for now we're sticking with the Symbiosis Style and that is to mix up all the music on all the stages so everyone gets to hear their favorite sound in a different area over the weekend
We booked Simon to play a sneak preview of his new album that won't be released till halloween. so get ready to hear the latest Shpongle tunes for the first time on a massive sound system in the most epic location you've ever been to in the states |

well, while im sure the new spot is amazing.... and i look forward to it
i hardly think one can call any event asking a $250 ticket price "underground"
maybe post event ill eat my words and be forced to have a nice serving of humble pie.
Im not even so upset about a lack of a trance stage... I like the mixing of things up, as long as its flows proper and there is a proper sunday morning trance floor. The ways its been done in years past has been fine....
but not including myself i note a distinct lack of locals playing.., and for a event with such a community bridging emphasis i think thats just a tad lame

GREAT LINEUP!!!
I would love to see
Shpongle/Hallucinogen, Perfect Stranger, Atmos, Ido Ophir/Domestic, and Bassnectar. I'm sure everything else there is great too, but I'm unfamiliar with a lot of it.
The venue sounds AMAZING!!! I would love to go, especially in a cabin.
BUT, the ticket price is HORRENDOUS!!! And for that reason, I WILL NOT be going to this festival. Quite sad because I really wanted to go 2 years ago, and intended to go this year until I saw the ticket prices (along with everybody else's reaction). Festivals like Coachella which are held at MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE AND HIGHER CAPACITY VENUES in more populated areas, and lineups which would cost MANY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS MORE THAN THIS ONE can sell tickets for $200-$250 and get away with it. But this is a terrible ticket pricing scheme, and I wish to convey this point to the organizers. If you really want to attract people to a party like this, you must consider that hippies, burners, psytrancers, and the like are not usually wealthy people. If I were to go to a festival like this, I would have to stop partying for 3-6 months just to save up.
Summary: Party looks GREAT, venue sounds amazing, lineup is amazing, pricing is terrible.
