Hi Guys!

I have listened sylenth1 performance and I like it a lot for my purposes. Someone know a similar plugin in RTAS format? The VST to RTAS conversion make me DAW crashing!

good vibes

Sorry, don't know about an Sylenth1 RTAS format, but there must be similar or more powerful synths in RTAS technology.

However, why can't you just simply use the VST version directly? What DAW (or other system) do you use that doesn't comply with the VST interface?

Yeah! Im' using Pro Tools. I could make Sylenth working as RTAS with the VST to RTAS adapter, using the last release of Sylenth. It has some problems with the MIDI Learn function.

snowdogg: do you thing other DAW as Cubase is better for trance?

i have only recently figured out protools midi section (or that it existed) but i have to say its fine, routing and stuff is easy!

these days there is no best daw, you can do almost everything in all of them. but there IS i believe a best daw for every individual. they all have slight pros/cons. check them out if your not happy with protools! (id recommend cubase/live/logic).

im not sure but i think alot of great vsts have been ported to RTAS, maby sylenth doesnt?(Trillian could replace sylenth maybe?)
best of luck

Ace works great as RTAS, a bit different than Sylenth & Co. but definetly worth learning its possibilites.
You can automate everything in Pro Tools quite easy. RTFM

Thank you for your contributions.
All DAWs your are talking are good for trance productions. It's a matter of pros/cons and the way to compose music.
I personally know better PT than the others, so it makes me easier. Automation features in Protools are really powerful in my opinion. The only thing I found easier in Cubase is the MIDI MAP Section, it's really wide.

I use a small pc for home, it's a laptop asus i3 4GbRAM with home characteristic. Well! In the same machine I have best performances with Pro Tools than others DAW (I tried Cubase and Live).
Mainly I refer to latency between MIDI control and DAW (with Cubase/Live wasn't possible to play in live and with ProTools is ZERO). In someway I can't expalin exactly why it happens that if I was using ASIO4ALL driver in both cases! Anyway that's great for me!

I fact my first 'earable' song I created with Cubase...and it does his job well.

About RTAS synthetizers: Thanks for suggesting me Trillian and Ace, i'll check them out.

Finally, It's possible to make Sylenth1 working with ProTools well:
1. Get the last version of Sylenth1 (2.2).
2. Install the plugin as VST
3. Get FXspansion VST to RTAS Adapter V2.11; detect and wrap Sylent1 2.2 dll
4. Enjoy!
[DAW: ProTools 10.3.2 HDX|Native]

Bye!!!!
