Hi
I have just purchased Sylenth1 and want to start programming my own sounds, especially bass sounds. I have been producing for a couple of years but always used presets. I havent been lazy and have read the manuel but i didnt learn that much from it as i dont understand lots of the terminology. I have also looked on the web.
How do i go about starting to programme my sounds using sylenth.
Sorry for the basic question.
Thanks |

definetely forget the presets. Then read the manual untill you know exactly every function in the synth.
Start then something completely own (initialize patch or default setting),try to connect the functions wisely,it should make sense. Each start is a hard - then look for some preset and try to recopy it but differently so that you have a completely different preset and unrecognizable where your inspiration to made this new preset came off.
Switch around your empty preset and the preset you wanna learn sth from.
Later you might don't have this time to look for all this presets when you try a new software synth if know all this functions like adsr ,filter, osc section ,matrix fucntions and all the other.

Best way to learn programming your Sylenth, IMO, would be to reverse remake it's exellent presets...

that's a very good idea if you really do it thoroughly, you'll know the insides out of that synth right away... but rather than reverse engineering every single preset, just look very closely at the ones you like the best. |

Read the manual... best advice ever...
Pay special attention on things like:
- A/B Sections
- Filter routes
- Modulation Matrix
- FX
- OSC sections
Learn all about it's multi-voice oscs learn it is the key to the phat sound.
This synth is tits. |
