After the onslaught of SKAZI @ Science of Sound, we unleash our next party to overdose your senses with special guest DJ DIMITRI D.K.N (AKA G.B.U - Spun Rec, Solstice Rec, ex-TIP Records)
YAK&YETI supported by GREEN ANT and D'PSYFA invite you to immerse ,your senses at this very special event. Yes , it’s the is the long awaited return of the one true trance master DIMITRI -who blew the dance floor away at the last Summer Dreaming festival and The VooV Experience 2003.(Germany) This legend of Psytrance Technically has proven his brilliance and possess a well experienced ear for the cutting edge of psychedelic sound. Indulge and express yourself on the dance floor to an exclusive and electrifying 3 hour performance amongst the lasers and surrounds of ARQ - a world class club.
DIMITRI D.K.N (SPUN Records)
Dimitri began his career doing DJ, radio and press for Junior Records,
Massive Attack, Leftfield, F.S.O.L, Underworld and many more. Dimitri's previous studio experience includes -Sasha's studio assistant & production manager for Roger Sanchez's Narcotic Records (London 1995-6). During his time at TIP World Records, Dimitri was the main DJ representative and A&R for the label, showcasing his style with the now classic 'Dimitri's Dat Bag' compilation. Such exposure and fame saw him DJing every weekend and organizing many of the TIP parties across the globe. Other projects include collaborations such as G.B.U. (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly with Deedrah and Serge) and partnerships with Hallucinogen, Talamasca, G.M.S and many more. He now works with GMS’s label - Spun Records and is ready to rip up for 3 hours with the latest floor burners!
MINDELIGHT - LIVE - AP Records - Mexico
From Burritos to Boom – Yak&Yeti showcases one of Mexico’s favorite hombres - Javier Calzada know to many as MINDELIGHT. He channels his creativity and sonic wizardry through his expert manipulation of audio software and hardware with the result of such magic elayed as a “psychedelic groovy-funky sound through to morning trance”. Javier was fortunate to come to dance floor attention after his debut gig next to the legendary Total Eclipse and SpaceCat and went onto play each week-end in different points of Mexico - being the favourite among party for the vibe he creates. His sounds were released on latest Mexican talent compilation: Psymex (AP Records), Earthdance 2003 (Kinetik Records) & Despertar de las Tribus (Psyclon Records). He is releasing on the next Green Ant compilation and we welcome him to Sydney for his first high-impact live show!
DJ ANDRREAS - NANO Records - Mexico
In 2003 Andrreas joined the South African label Nano Records: home of the internationally acclaimed acts - Protoculture, Rinkadink, Hydrophonic & Broken Toy. With impeccable track selection, set structuring and mixing he has become of Mexico's leading djs and vibe creators and has gone onto to play truly memorable sets at world-class events such as Thailand's Koh Payam Full Moon Festival.
PRODUCTION AND VENUE: ARQ - (16 Flinders St, Taylor Square, Taylor Square)
Yak&Yeti have gone to great lengths to secure this venue and are extremely fortunate to be able to party in perhaps one of the best purpose built venues Sydney has ever seen - ARQ. This truly amazing world class venue is fitted out with nothing but quality - independent moving lighting rigs, the best 16.7 MILLION COLOUR twin-head laser system and a sound system that has been designed and built to accommodate the acoustic needs. The result is one of the most sophisticated building designs and acoustic spaces possible - thus it’s the perfect environment to crank out some serious music. YakandYeti will again go full tilt with complete venue transformation and you can experience all of this from the mezzanine level that encircles the entire dance floor. Your comfort is important to us, and ARQ is recognized as having one of the best air conditioning systems in Sydney to guarantee you a smoke free environment to party.
