Every time I load Cubase, I've always gotten this error. It's a "pending connections" error saying that "directMusic / Midex3 1" isn't connected to a port. Well, what does this mean?

I'm running an external ASIO device as my soundcard, so why is Cubase tring to connect a nonexistent directmusic device? Or have I missed the point?

The DirectMusic menu in the device setup window is empty, is there supposed to be something there?

i think cubase thinks that you have a midex midi interface...

try to reset your cubase setup, or reinstall           www.myspace.com/psypox

There error has been everpresent, even when I was using SX2. I assumed it was a bug that would go away when I did a clean installation of SX3. Nope.

I don't even know what a Midex midi interface is... I don't think I have one! I'm using a tascam us-122 USB Asio sound device, which never gives me any problems, so I don't know what all of this is refering to.

Cubase probably store some stuff in the registry, so reinstall won't help. The error means that somewhere in your setup there is a reference to Midx3. Try to find it and change it. It can be on one of the midi tracks, synchronization setup...
If that doesn't help, try to look in your registry. make sure you backup before changing anything.

Does anyone know what a Midex3 IS? A virtual device?

This error comes up in new songs saved with a single VST instrument. The DirectMusic menu is dead empty, so I don't get what it's referring to. Anyway, yeah, I'll glance in the registry and see if there's something there.

This isn't a critical error or anything, it's just a minor annoyance when a song is opened, but it's the priciple of not knowing what the fuck Cubase is referring to that bothers me. There's certainly nothing specific in the manual about it.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

Woah... yeah, I definitely don't have one of those. Well, I'll email Steinberg customer service then, I thought that was some virtual device I'd accidently turned on. Thanks!
