SX3 AUTOMATION, PLS HELP!

I really need some help with this so hope anyone can help. I need to control my, yeah controls from the virus A in SX3 (automation) so i can draw it in to make it tight. Ive connected my midi in/out from the Virus to my soundcard but i just cant get it to work! the virus is set to send midi and my midiports is "turned on" in sx3, ive tried to record a midi track with the "read enable" hoping i could see it afterwards but i cant. I hope some of you wizards can help. Thx  |

here's a recipe:
assuming you have a properly set up midi cabling..
1) make a new midi track. put it on record.
2) check your sx settings such that midi notes (or whatever else you need, e.g. sysex) are note filtered out
3) click record on your transport and tweak the virus
4) go to the newly recorded midi part (on the midi channel, not somewhere in the automation of an audio track) and you'll see the piano roll with the notes, below it you can select different midi CCs and the ones with * carry recorded controller data, select them and you'll see your recorded controller data and you can change/draw it too

hm, tryed it out, but my midi config must be wrong cause i get nothing in automation at all  In my channel settings. Anybody can help me with my setup, maybe i got some lame thing ive missed? thx for the help otherwise |

check if you did everything has mentioned in the virus'manual for sending AND receiving midi/sysex
i have the virus C, have no clue if its the same menus.

arhh finally i cracked it! ive made some chances in the preference dialog, in the midi filter, so now it F***** works! Thanks a lot to all of you for your answers! really helped a lot. thx  |
