Hi man!
Well dude, i used the Cubase SX on windows 98, and i have some problens with the image. The sequencer´s screen looks black, and i can´t see the music sequence. When i change to the windowns XP the same track have no more problem.

work on XP no stucks no problems...
98 lots of stucks...

i m work with w2k too, but as far as i know v 1.03 and up should work on w98.

Don't forget to install ServicePack after Xp instalation.
I still prefer win2k with service pack 3 + cubase SX, but this is just my opinion.
