Ok this is probably the first Portugese group that i have ever heard of and i was very interested to see whats going on in this album when i received it.
Suria are Frederic C Gandara and Rui V Ribeiro and their debut album is released by the Italian based Magma Records.
Tracklist
01.Suria-Next Stop
02.Suria-Astro
03.Suria-Magnitude
04.Suria-Rush
05.Suria-Blue Faces
06.Suria-Dance Oscillator
07.Suria-Sky Stone
08.Suria-Ana And Danni
09.Suria-Test Setting
The first track Next Stop is a average progressive track that has some nice fx in the backround, nice for the oppening of the album but not something special.
The second track,Astro,is the best of the album in my opinion and it is progressive full on at its best, nice beat on this one.
Magnitude starts straight away with a kick and i dont like that at all in a track, very average one.
On the next four tracks,Rush,Blue Faces,Dance Oscillator and Sky Stone i couldnt find anything interesting except the nice rythm in Blue Faces, not bad productions but no innovative ideas at all.
Ana And Danni is my second favorite from this album, nice fast track with atmospheric backround.
Last but not least there is a track that personally i suggest it for home listening and only,Test Setting has many positive parts in it but its not for the dancefloor in my opinion, nice try this one though.
Overall the production quality is in high standarts and what is missing from these 2 guys are some nice innovative and refreshing ideas,my favorites are tracks 2,8 and 9 and i found the rest very average, maybe not my style to be honest.
Progressive fans might find this one very interesting but if you want something more psychedelic then spend your money somewhere else.
I wish all the best to Suria and i bet that in the near future they will introduce us to some very interesting and intelligent music.
5/10

i like this album more than detox, for sure!
I am not so sure about the production... it's ok but not stellar.... I think maybe better use of stereo is needed sometimes.... I like more movement especially with the hihats etc, beyond the occasional kickdrum trickery they use... But the rythms are often excellent....
Several tunes have unusual kick patterns (think Noma - Dooda... but not as much genius as Noma:):) ) However the kick often sounds a bit 'woolly'. The final tune Test Setting is my favourite on the album and the kick redeems itself here... Listening now, the final tune sounds better in every way to the rest of the album...
There is quite a mixture of proggy influences as well as more full-on tunes.
Synth sounds are solid, plenty of good riff noises on the fullon tunes. Nothing particularly breathtaking though (maybe this is what Detox is getting it)....
Oh now Ive written all this I have realised that I agree with Detox's review... ooops! I like 9 __a lot__, and the rest of the album _quite a bit_....
hehe:)
I certainly look forward to more tunes by Suria.

very good quality but too simple IMO
that is , there is no surprises and incredible lines..
number 9 ." test setting" is the pleasurable track in the album
6.5/10
There is no doubt about Suria team are good , but I will look what they will create in the future.
P.S The album is great for people who like simple stuffs , without combustible lines
what if everyone of us will think positive about peace ?
