That thread was from 2003. I don't know about anyone else but I haven't heard any Suomi trance played at parties ever. Try to drop a track into your set and see how people respond. The current popular style of psytrance is so ingrained in people's heads that anything different will be considered waaaay different. They may even say it's not psytrance. This is fucked up. This is why psytrance is getting more and more stagnant. If it doesn't have that same bassline people don't know what to make of it.
I'd love for DJs to have the balls to drop some suomi style in their set. See what happens. Maybe it'll be the track that blows their mind to another level.
One thing to mention, this music is for psychedelic lovers, not club lovers, and is best played for people who are tripping (whether on a substance or on life).
(ps I agree about the low production quality though, which is my only apprehension when including it in my set.) |

Freaky stuff freaky enough , in some cases the production could be of higher quality though.
Actually this is kinda interesting for me because I was not that familiar with err Suomi-sound before (read 2-3 years ago), but now that I got my hands on it I love it. |

The base of Suomi is Finnish (means comes from Finland, not finished  but Suomi artist are all over, here in Israel you can here about Soumi parties most every second weekend, and lots and lots of artist coming up also...
if you wish to check out some parties reviews try Psychodelic Zion and foxy methoxy, and there are many more, just talking about oldies and goldies here |

it´ll soon be 3 years from the vision Zombi had in the previous 2003 thread... we´re gonna have a nice check on it next weekend here in finland: limited 500people party with kiwa vs haltya, eraser vs yojalka, troll scientists etc.. bom bholenath and stay stoned for upcoming releases winter 2006!!! |

robomarket: Yes, we have our own weird language in Finland and Finland is Suomi in Finnish, which indeed is not same as finish. Your question was WHY and my answer is I DON'T KNOW:-). |
