Hi guys! I'm working on this remix. I was with this lead melody stuck in my head for a while, today I spent the whole day working on this track, and at first I didn't realize it was from a Sunstryk track lol. Then I thought "damn, this melody is from a track from Sunstryk... Hell, I'm gonna call it a remix then heh".

It's almost ready, during the week I'm gonna work on the arrangement, to make it more dynamic, and not too robotic.

All sound synthesized using the modular system:

Kick - filter ressonance
Snare and Hats - white noise from the LFO
Bass / Lead / Drones / Squelches / PAd - Bubblesound VCOb vs Aether Osc.
Sweeps - Aether osc

nice sounds mate
like the track and its flow, cool baseline.

the kick sounds a bit weird on my cans here though and for me the high hats sound a bit too thin.

anyway, keep us up to date with the track!           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

Hi mate! Thx for listening and the kind comments! Can you explain to me this "weird" a bit more?? I think it's because of youtube compression. I'm uploading in soundcloud the WAV file and enable the download, so you can listen the original file on your monitors.

I sampled the kick from the filter at full ressonance, using an Attack/Decay envelope to modulated it. IT went thru the neve portico 5033 to give a low end boost, and compressed using the Overstayer Stereo VCA compressor. In ableton I tuned the kick 1 semi tone lower, it sounded better. Also I used the EQ eight to cut everything below 45Hz.

hey again,

kick sounds much better in wav file, i would say its ok sounding, not superclean as usually in psy, but without sc artefacts its fine!

I really dig this, man! I love that chunky groove, those are some of my favorite grooves, and extra plus for making all these sounds on the modular, well done! (actually, since I have been thinking about getting a modular as well for a while, this track is another big plus in the direction of getting one, since you managed to get lots of cool bread and butter sounds out of it and not just the usual ploinking one hears on modular forums).

However, as klippel said its not superclean sounding, bu i guess that cant be expected and is not necessary. Well done, ill follow you on souncloud, excited to see what else you get out of that modular!           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

Hey guys! Thx for listening! I'm glad you enjoyed! Today I'll spend the day working on it, adding a little bit more stuff, arranging it, polishing, etc... GOnna try another kick, I'm not so pleased about this one either. The problem is that, at the moment, I only have a linear VCA, but the exponential is already on it's way, so I can achieve exponential curves that are more suitable for percussive sounds. I also don't have a proper Attack/Decay only module, just a regular linear ADSR. Soon the Voltage Controled Doepfer ADSR is coming so I can self modulate the envelope stages to creat some nice exponential curves too.

@aje

Yes man, definetely get your modular! You can get all the bread and butter sounds you want, plus the weird stuff!! That's my plan, to mix the sounds only the modulars can achieve with the current progressive psy formula.

I´d suggest to remove hi-hats completely or make them follow main sounds more.
Or make them really really quiet.           http://mihkel.bandcamp.com/indexpage

Hummm remove the hats you say.. I was thinking about making them a bit louder, wich collides with your suggestion heh. But bear in mind this is a work in progress, the hi hats pattern is really really simple, still a lot more of work! Thx for listening.
