Sunrize Connexions

Didnt know anything about this artist, but like what I hear...
The cover booklet is really informative, unlike most I buy.
Every song except the first is a collaboration with a different artist,
but it sounds like Sunrize is in charge of the bass, and they do a wonderful job with emotional and diverse basslines.

1. Connexions
Opens with a sample from the Matrix Reloaded (one of my favorite movies),
this song is really good. Its pretty much the definition of the Sunrize sound. I love what they do at 5:00, puts a big smile on my face!
10/10

2. Offender
Takes a while to build, about 3 minutes. Great tune once its going.
9/10

3. New Horizons
This one starts a bit suspiciously but the entire song is very rewarding,
a masterpiece. Excellent basslines throughout!
10/10

4. Next Destination
Some nice little blips and stuff, a fun song but doesnt really stand out.
7/10

5. Exchange
Another fun song, with chopped vocals, and that signature punchy bass that makes you bounce your head and smile.
8/10

6. X-Ray
This is my favorite song on the album. Its almost like "minimal fullon",
but this clean sound has so much energy, and just when you think its
not going to push any harder, it does, especially at 5:44.
Its got a bit of a mean edge to it too, which makes it stand out from the other songs.
Love it!!
11/10

Not a big fan of the rest of the songs so I dont want to review them.

I love this artist. I own alot of albums but this is the first time I ever reviewed one.
If you dont like it, too bad, write your own review
This isnt my favorite kind of music, but, its got a unique charm to it.
It doesnt sound like its trying to be cool, or epic, or the latest hippest mindbomb,
yet it is all those things. Thats why its so good!!
Reminds me a bit of Astral Projection's Another World.
All in all this album gets 10/10 from me.
Excellent basslines all the way through, if anything for their next effort I would like to hear
some more purposeful melodies, but they are already way ahead of the pack in every area.

cheers

My fav track is "exchange" (no.5), love the tribal moods they put in it. Fun song.

But overall the album gets a bit too fluffy and popy sometimes, specially after you listen to it a couple of times. Great production though.
