Hey everyone , For reasons beyond our control, we have changed the venue that will house the performance of SUN Project. The event will no longer be at Spirit Nightclub. It will be at AVALON Nightclub at 6th Avenue at 20th Street. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patronage.
See u all on the Dance floor , Peace & Love

This is completely wrong, SUN Project at Avalon. Let me ask you this, "beyond your control" means that only meat packing Avalon is the option to have a party? If it's not working out with Spirit you must only do the party in Avalon???? You can't book any other venues? |

Hey SpaceShark There is NO other venues in Manhattan. You have Only 3 big Night Club , Avalon , Spirit , Crobar ! The rest of the venues are smaller and no one wants to give Saturday night, we need a big Club for that. They are very expensive and Like I said before we don’t want to lose Money. we try our best to Bring Big psy-trance Artists to Nyc.

I understand that you don't want to loose money and you should not loose any money by organizing a party.
I guess what I'm trying to say is why not use clubs like Exit (Alladin Project is using it all the time) or something smaller and not particulary in Manhattan. And in terms of Saturdays, how about Fridays? Again, Alladin crew almost always does their parties on Fridays in cool underground locations somewhere in Brooklyn (not too far from the city). And I've yet to see unhappy people on those parties. TDC guys always have cool underground locations for their parties as well.
And since you're working with Alladin Project now, why not use the same locations?
I've talked to a bunch of tranceheads over the last two days and people are unhappy because of Avalon. We want to be able to come to a venue and simply enjoy the show, especially SUN Project, but there will be a huge amount of people who simply don't give a shit and don't even know who SUN Project is. They will be there just to drink or get wasted and they don't really care who plays.
It's just not fair for us, who love our artists, but who won't feel comfortable completely relaxing and enjoying themselves in the crowd of wasted idiots.
Trancemotion, I know you're there to make money, and I completely understand that. I'm just expressing my opinion. I'm writing this posting not because I'm angry, but because I'm frustrated. I just hope that you will consider other venues for your future parties. I've been to a few of your parties before and you bring very cool dj's who I love to hear play and I don't want to miss them simply because it is in the clubs like Avalon.
Hope you understand my frustration.

Clubs like Exit and the ones TDC use would not be able to handle the amount of people Sun Project/ Infected Mushroom/ and the other big big name artists Trancemotion brings. Theirs really not anything else to discuss here. I guess you just have to make a choice between promoters who chose money/big artists/ big clubs and promoters who chose music/ underground artists/ underground clubs. Or why not have both, as we all have the opportunity too. Life is full of so many choices, its so fucking great
edit: and whats wrong with saturdays?
We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home. |

Liquid-Vision, most mainstream nightlife left Manhattan for Brooklyn years ago. Many big name musicians skip the manhattan clubs completly nowadays and head right to Brooklyn.
What about the club "The Hook" in red hook Brooklyn? It can easily hold just as many people as Avalon and you could still charge 35 bucks at the door.

The party at 'Avalon' was a dissapointment.
"Sun Project" itself was really good, with no space to dance though.
I wouldn't go to this club again, even for a major artist.
Probably Russ you made a good choice by going to Amsterdam, I read that the party was pretty good. What time did the party at Amsterdam end? |

Despite all my complaining I still went to this party. What can I say.....Sun Project was great as always and that was the only good thing about this party. Here are some of my comments:
1) The crowd was horrible. Just a few familiar trancehead faces on the dance floor. No room to dance at all. A bunch of drunk and wasted idiots pushing each other. Completely unfriendly and "un-trance" scene and environment.
2) The party was scheduled to go until 8, but it ended at 6.
Trancemotion what happened again? The same story was in Spirit back in May when Allien Project played. How come this pattern is happening and parties are being closed earlier?
Overall, the party pretty much sucked, except for the 1.5 hours when Sun Project played. Avalon is not a place for trance parties. I am definately not coming to this club ever again.
