hello everyong, just trying to make some plans for the rest of the year and would love to get any info on trance festivals in japan this year, especially the soltice music festival (and thankyou but please don't send me the solstice23.com website as it rarely has any info about the big festivals, and leaves it to the last minute to list their own huge festival?!!?!)

Hey Schuda,
Do you want "big" festivals or do you want the really cool smaller festivals as well.

If you want a "BIG" festival then I think Vision Quest might even be bigger than Solstice. Sorry, dont know the dates. But as Shed said there are festivals every weekend throughout the Summer. Can you be more specific? Maybe then we can recommend some nice parties for you.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

I have some interest in this info, too.

I make jewelry, clothing, and accessories. Last year I sold at the S.U.N.S. Summer Fest. up in Hokkaido. Thats a pretty good crew up there. They should be doing it again this year in mid July. And the Ainu festival is over the obon holiday out in the rurals of Hokkaido. Not a trance event, but I highly reccommend it.

There is a festival in Aso, Kumamoto-ken May 1st-6th. I don't know what music-ke it is yet, but my firedancing friend is making the voyage all the way from Chiba, so it's probably worth while.

If anyone has info on May and June outdoor events, large or small, I'd appreciate it.           Something new

Are any of those artists psytrance? Either way, it looks like it'll be fun. There's also an outdoor party on 6/4 with Jojouka, Sirius Isness, Damage, Theoreme, and others in Aichi-ken.

Hey, I went to Niji no Misaki festival last year during golden week since I was going to be in Kyushu anyways. My friend and I camped there for a couple of days..the location was beautiful! Fantastic view of mountains and valleys, and a spectacular sunset! The music was mainly psychedelic rock(unfortunately the stage was blown over by a wicked rain storm the first night we were there)..but there was a nice drum circle going. Not sure if there`ll be any psy-trance, but the crowd was very friendly and chill..more of a hippie vibe with lots of kids and dogs running around. You can easily check out the nearby vocanic peaks and onsen too.
Hope you enjoy it!
