I guess this notice is a little late, but if anyone is heading to Arcadia's summer arcade festival tomorrow, beware that the location changed at the last minute a week ago. That might be really unfortunate for anyone who had the flier or saw the full-page ad in the Metropolis magazine and then travelled all the way out there to find no party. Ha! Now that would suck. Anyway, check Arcadia's website for the new location. Good luck! Hope to see you folks on the dancefloor. If you're looking for me, I suspect I'll be the one with the biggest smile (evil grin?).

The party was insane!!!!!!!!! CPU was the musical highlight. Tsuyoshi was awesome, and a japanese DJ who played the only progressive set of the party (he played before Tsuyoshi if anyone knows his name) was great. It was my first festival in Japan...the first of many!! Well done Arcadia.

hi Danza,

The Japanese progressive dj was Dj So, the resident dj of Mindgames/The Labyrinth. I think he's the best progressive dj in Japan by far. You can see him again at the Labyrinth on September 10-12.

How was the party? Well, as you guys may know I like to stay positive, but the Arcadia crew don't exactly pride themselves by beaming positivity. The best thing about the party was simply having a party. They managed to bring a whole bunch of people together to have fun so I give them credit for that. Besides actually knowing that it was, the party truly seemed like it was thrown together at the last minute. I've been to a lot of parties and I have to say that while I had a great time, the party was probably the worst I've been to. I suppose if what you want from a party is a complete lack of rules (including the rules of good sense) then this party would have suited you just fine.

The music ranged from very good to pure shit. Domino played a very nice set (though the music stopped....wasn't that amazing how the sunbeam hit the dancefloor just after it started up again?!), Eskimo sounded good but his laptop crashed repeatedly (why not just push play on the CD and let us dance?), Tsuyoshi played much better music than in recent years but it could have been called "Best-Hit PsyTrance" with mostly popular tracks, CPU was good, I was zoned out or something during Jorg, and unfortunately I wasn't on the dance floor for Absolum though my friends were thoroughly amazed.

One measure of how an organizer cares about their customers is how they keep their toilets. The toilets last weekend were just disgusting beyond belief. By the end you couldn't even get near them for the stinking mud around them and reports are that if you actually made it you really wouldn't want to enter. Major health hazard. Those were the worst I've seen. Also, the filth and garbage on the dancefloor was really hard to ignore. The deco was far from inspiring either. Despite being so far from an ideal party, simply being outdoors, partying with friends to decent music among the luscious greenery of the Gunma mountains was really nice. I lived up to my prediction and wore a huge (evil?) grin from ear to ear most of the weekend.

well this is what a report i got from a friend.
The party was thrown at the last minute, with too many last minute changes.
Sun Project was supposed to come but, they didnt...
Eskimo was double booked for a party somewhere in europe, so he came right after, giving him no time for sound checking(which resulted in the multiple crashes of the computer).
Tsuyoshi was also double booked and came at the last minute.

I heard they got a crowd of about 3000 people... Wish they could of gotten more.

Well DJ SO is the best dj by far! This guy has been my reccomended dj for a few years now. He should be able to go to the world soon!

Sad but true...
Worst improvised venue I ever been, worst dance floor I ever dance, discusting toilets, sound system crashes, exagerated body checking, poor deco, no SUN Project... ... ...
By another side...
Artists, Rain, and Vibe save the party from the ruin...
Christof played the best dj set I ever seen. He killed me and the rest of the dance floor!
Dark Soho was so B E A U T I F U L under intense rain!
Eskimo was just unlukcy, he is a genious!
Domino's vibe rocks!
I met many nice people and met again many old friends.... So GOOD!
Thanx artists and party people for all vibe u bring to the summer arcade!
