m-audio audiophile or 410 firewire?
Audiophile is about 280€, firewire about 400e I thought. |

i have the fw410 and i have some problems with it. i dont recommend it for pc - its not bad.. just "acts up" when it feels like it.

What problems exactly? cause I have the AP version and had problems too (soundcard disconnecting). but since i reinstalled my pc with new hdd and os it happened just one time (today ). I wonder if anybody else has had the same problem. Other than that I like this card! But 2 out of 2 having problems with m-audio so far isn't exactly the best ad for them |

i once had the audiophile firewire and i wouldnt recommmend it to pc users,, i had to sell it . it simply didnt work right on my laptop. before i had a audigy and it worked way better!!!
i heard mac users dont have these problem . it might be the lousy drivers and support.
if u can get a motu and i believe echo audio has a new firewire card soounds hot!! i like echo, i use an indigo on my lap all the time and its great specially for traktor and ableton ..
cheers

its not 2/2 its much more then that- use the search on this card and see the minions of unhappy people posting their misery with this contraption.

I honestly think that the biggest issue that the M-Audio firewire cards have is with the 4 pin firewire ports on PC laptops.
I have now a fw audiophile and while it works for me at home, it has done nothing but give me major problems whenever I took it outdoors to play.
I did use the echo indigo dj card and that thing seemed to work rather well.

I recently bought an M-Audio firewire and it produces clicks and this happens not so seldom. I don't know if it's the hardware itself or if i have to tweak some settings. |

This is turning into an anti m-audio thread! I have a firewire audiophile as well and i must admit it is prone to clicks & pops when i use it with sequencers..it seems fine with deejaying programs though...
anyway how abt the Presonus Firebox:

i've read some really good reviews and lots of ppl have recommended it to me...this is wt i'm going to get once i get rid of my firewire audiophile..
