Can someone share their knowledge of any high quality sample cd's or programs for that matter that contain more exotic types of percussion.
Also, i need advice into how i could go about tightening a drum hit. I would like to a hit of a certain drum sample crisp and clean and able to fit into a mix, any suggestions? Could compression and a tad of reverb be the key?
Thanks for any thoughts. |

to make my percussion samples more crispy, i like to use the dominion transient tool.
its freeware, and its quite fine to give your samples more accent in the mix. |

Amampondo?? Isnt that the african band that works with Juno Reactor? Cool.
About making drum samples sound "better" I think that before thinking about compression, eq and reverb you should start with some samples that sounds great just as they are. Thats the key really.

waves got a plugin that gives more attack to a signal, it called "trans - x" .give it a try!
b.t.w wave`s "dubbler" also works good on percussions if you like the sense of "alive", it double your line like 2-3 players played it. |
