That'll be Boards of Canada & HUVA Network

I wouldn't support these though, while both offer great musical opportunities, I don't think they're relaxed enough for what you're looking for.

Try anything by Hari Prasad Chaurasia- the Indian flute master will suit you best. No argue about that. The most spacey and relaxing music you can find that takes the mind away.

Also Steve Hillage- Rainbow Dome Musick, Dreamfish (Mixmaster Morris & Pete Namlook), some of Makyo's more relaxed and beatless stuff, Ishq is a good one as well of course.

You can always go with Oliver Shanti as well.

most often i use jairamiji - kindred spirits, its very relaxed but keeps the flow moving, people are less likely to fall asleep if there are some rhythms.
and yes also ISHQ - orchid, disk 1

2350 broadway 2 by namlook on FAX

sometimes i use aes dana - season 5
sometimes HUVA network...
sometimes just sounds of a water fountain.

oh yeah, and check out "music for a busy head"!

sometimes innerzone by steve roach and vidna obmana,
and on that note, anything by roach will do. also robert rich, obmana or any of those droney masters.

or i play one of my chill mix cds and then try to sell a copy at the end hehe.
thats all i can think of right now, there are more...
but i prefer to steer clear of standard "new age" music as i find it to be too cliche, and it drives me mad....
best of luck...           www.bluespectralmonkey.com

Hey fivElements,

I definitely think you've found one of the best in ishq.

As you have heard Sabadhi by Adham Shaikh on Interchill's Floatation compilation, if you like it, you should check out Adham Shaikh and Tim Floyd - Drift (One of the most naturally spacey and magical albums I have heard. His other albums are great, too, but I think Drift is the most relaxing. You should be able to order straight from his website, www.sonicturtle.com. I think you have to e-mail him directly as of now to order, but there will be an online ordering form soon. There are also audio samples from the albums on the website. You can occasionally find a copy on amazon.com (more audio samples there) or eBay. Adham Shaikh will also be coming out with a new album, Fusion, very soon)

Also, try out the mystical flute of Rakesh Chaurasia (the flutist from the album, Vira, which maer has mentioned. The only other album of his I know of and have is Destiny, which is also quite nice. I don't know if he is the son or brother, etc. of Hari Prasad Chaurasia.)

One more album I would recommend is Prem Joshua - Sky Kisses Earth. The melodies are so full of spirit and healing power. Some might consider this album New Age. I'm not a fan of cheesy, predictable music, and I am completely impressed by this album. It certainly is not psychedelic or abstract, just healthy. You can check out audio samples from amazon.com and Prem Joshua's webpage, premjoshua.com.

Also, I agree that bluespectralmonkey's suggestion of Matt Coldrick - music for a busy head, is another great one.

Hope these help.

Yeah definately step away from dub and psy chill, to many distraction for massage... Ishq would be great, but I"d go hunting at your local world music store fro some nice music from India and Nepal, I got some over there of flut and sitar etc. and they are just perfect on a cold night, in front of the fire snuggling and massaging.., traditional psy chill I find is great for listening to and enjoying at party's, but not soft enough for two people to relax to together... just don't go for the cheesey new age music shite hehe
