worth checking the fostex lower range , had the fostex pm1 in the past , it was not bad
if you can get a listen to the pm04 it sell new for 200 |

I had those for 5 years. I must say they where very nice actually. Better then you will think =) As soon as u get used to them you'll have no problem. I recommend those for sure. I made 3 albums on them

amazing monitors for the cash... and all you gotta do is stuff the bass ports with socks if you don't want the colored low end... works like a charm after that

You could look for a pair of Tannoy Reveal Actives, older model. Pair should go for max 250E. |

They're RIDICULOUSLY loud for their size, and the battery lasts over 30 hours at reasonable listening levels. People go on about those X-Bass things but this poops on them from a very great height indeed.
