These are some suggestions, but if I had to name a couple of my favourite compilations from the past couple of years (compilations since you are a newcomer to chillout), I would have to recommend:
Chillosophy 3 [Digital Structures] (hard to find now though)
Floating Point 2 [Iboga]
Fahrenheit Project 3 [Ultimae]
Talisman [Interchill]
Then if you like the dubby stuff from Floating POint and Talisman, Ott-Blumenkraft, Kukan-Dub-Lagan - Life Is Nice, Shulman-In Search of A Meaningful Moment are musts.
Welcome to the beautiful world of chillout bliss.

Hey Buzzee,
It's not a must, but I'll recommend my own album 'Emotivision' as it has a fair amount of 4/4 material that you might be into, with some dub influence.

I don't know, after a full day of listening to Emotivision (stuck at school the whole day working on an assignment with Androcell to keep me company, yay), I will say it IS a must. 2 and 6 blew me away several times today. And after every listen it only gets better.

I'd say the follwing are musts:
The Kumba Mela Experiment - "East Of The River Ganges" for Indian influenced dub with a few 4/4 tracks, very much using real instruments.
The Infinity Project - "Mystical Experience"
Shulman - "In Search Of A Meaningful Moment"
Androcell - "Emotivision (very nicely done withsome very phat 4/4 dub beats)"
Shpongle - "Are You Shpongled?"
Total Eclipse - "Violent Releaxtion"
enjoy |
