suddenly sound stops in Cubase Sx .... (Troubleshooting)

Hello ...
I have a problem lately with Cubase SX ...
when i work on a Track everything sounds good and there are no problems with the sounds e.t.c.
but suddenly the sound stoped ...
i mean it still showes me the parameter of the channels and everthing seems working fine ... but there is NO Sound anymore ...o tryed everything ...installing the drivers new ... checking latency ... Audiopriority , Samplerate ...
i have noo idea where this problem came from ...
please help me...because it's veery annoying to do music like that ... or don't to do music ...hehe

Had a similar problem with M Audio sound card. Driver updates helped, but didn't resolve the problem. Ended up getting rid of the card.
Sounds like a conflict somewhere between software & driver. Is your software cracked? Cracked software can sometimes create these types of problems as well....

Have you tried re-installing SX?
Also when the sound stops did you try changing the asio driver to the internal soundcard & then back again to your external card? That usually works for me.. http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic |

hi there...
I know, that sx3 checks the copy protection (dongle) for exactly every 10 minutes...
If you haven`t original version you have the software emulated dongle, right!? ^^
could imagine, its because of this... but no idea how to solve the problem... heard the same from people that buyed cubase in original... perhaps get an update!?!?!?
one idea could be(as you live in switzerland I supose you have german windows version as I have?):)
rightclick 'arbeitsplatz' -> Eigenschaften -> go to 'erweitert' -> Einstellungen (Systemleistung) -> Erweitert -> set to: Optimale Leistung anpassen für 'Hintergrunddienste'
as your Audiodriver is a 'Hintergrunddienst' (think 'background service' in english) no idea about the english words Microsoft uses for that, sorry ^^
but strange that it worked for some time and then suddenly not... did you install any new soft- or hardware during this time?
what operatingsystem do you use? If winXP check out http://www.musicxp.net/ ...great tips for tuning winxp for audio purposes perhaps it will work after doing them...

mine is worse ... CPU meter keeps spiking to 100 % every second .. and audio playback is all jittery ....
windows really sucks for music production ! |
